Changes to referral criteria for Tier 3 Specialist Weight Management Services

Overview

NHS Cheshire and Merseyside are working to align provision and access arrangements to Tier 3 Specialist Weight Management Services in Cheshire and Merseyside.

The purpose of this is to:

• ensure that access to this specialist intensive weight management service is prioritised for people with the greatest clinical need and highest level of health risk.
• address current variations in referral criteria for different parts of Cheshire and Merseyside and support a more consistent and equitable approach to access for these very specialist services.
